According to the information based on the case files, Kvashuk has been stealing Microsoft’s testing services such as digital gift cards until the incident was discovered and he was fired in 2018. The employee, who sold the services he has stolen, made millions of dollars this way. The former Microsoft employee, who included his colleagues in the incident in order not to get caught, seized the e-mail accounts of three colleagues and carried out various transactions through these addresses. Kvashuk thought using his colleagues e-mail accounts would keep him safe and he could continue without notice.

According to the court panel, Volodymyr Kvashuk, a Ukrainian citizen, bought a house worth $ 1.6 million with the money he has stolen from Microsoft. The authorities mentioned that this house is on the lakeside and is quite luxurious, that however, was not enough for Kvashuk, for he also bought a Tesla brand car worth 160 thousand dollars.
