Famous Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo made a statement today. According to the statement, Apple cares about foldable phones. In addition, Apple is working seriously on this issue. However, we will have to wait until 2023 for the first foldable iPhone model. The wait however may worth since we are talking about a company which is in the business since the beginning.
Foldable phones have also been around for a long time, and more than 2 years have passed when they first appeared. Meanwhile, Samsung is among the biggest names in the smartphone market. We had the chance to see the foldable smartphones of Huawei and Xiaomi. However, Apple, the most popular brand in the “premium” segment, has never said or done anything about foldable smartphones to date.
We’ll wait two more years for foldable iPhones
Ming-Chi Kuo sent a note to its investors and shared information about Apple’s plans in the foldable smartphone industry. According to the information provided by Kuo, we will see the first iPhone-branded foldable smartphone in 2023. This phone will be 8 inches in size and its resolution will be QHD +. In addition, Kuo says SDC and Samsung Foundry will be the most important collaborators in Apple’s foldable iPhone work.
Today’s foldable smartphones can be folded from a single point of the screen. The silver nanowire touch panel will enable the screen to be folded from multiple points. The foldable iPhone model will become a product that can offer the laptop and smartphone experience at the same time.
