Capcom Hacked Three Days Ago

Capcom issued a press release admitting that the company’s internal systems had been hacked a few days ago. “Beginning in the early morning hours of November 2, 2020 some of the Capcom Group networks experienced issues that affected access to certain systems, including email and file servers. The company has confirmed that this was due to unauthorized access carried out by a third party. And that it has halted some operations of its internal networks as of November 2. Capcom expressed its deepest regret for any inconvenience this may have caused to its various stakeholders.”

The statement goes on by saying that “there is currently no indication that any customer information has been breached”. These words ‘right now’ do a pretty heavy job there. If you have a Capcom account until more information is available, it’s probably best to assume it’s compromised.

The press goes on “Capcom is consulting with the police as well as other related authorities while both carrying out an investigation and taking measures to restore its systems”. Who knows what will happen in the end, but I like it when Mr. X breaks a basement door to get justice. As the facts become clear, the company will continue to provide updates on websites and other means.
