Dota 2 Receives New Hero and A Massive Update
Dota 2 Mistwoods update dropped yesterday; along with a bunch of changes to the game, and adding its 120th hero: called Hoodwink. Update 7.28 is Dota 2’s fifth but potentially the biggest of the year and; a brand new mechanic was introduced just before the holidays, called Aghanim’s Shards. It, therefore, offers purchasable items to give heroes brand new abilities or; to upgrade existing ones in the middle of the matches. In this regard, they function in the same way as Aghanim’s Scepter and allow players to spend 1,400 gold to expand their character’s abilities.
For example, a Shard on Lich adds Ice Spire, a new ability that slows down enemies around it and produces a giant icicle that gives Chain Frost something extra to bounce off. A Shard in Centaur Warrunner offers a power bonus that can stack up to five times by increasing the hero’s current Double Edge ability.
Meanwhile, Hoodwink is a nimble-based agility hero with nukes, hurdles, and escape possibilities. In all these ways, she looks a lot like the Windranger. However, Hoodwink has an ultimate ability called the Sharpshooter that allows her to charge a long-range shot reminiscent of the Assassinate but must aim manually. For all these reasons I predict it is extremely popular at pub games. You can go find the full list of changes over on Valve’s website. Also for more game news don’t forget to visit our game section.
