Elite Dangerous: Odyssey Postponed to Spring 2021
Frontier Development originally planned to release Elite Dangerous: Odyssey in early 2021. However, the team announced that the expansion was delayed until the spring of 2021. According to Frontier, the Alpha phase of Elite Dangerous: Odyssey will begin in early spring 2021. Following this alpha release, the team aims to roll out the full version towards the end of spring.
The reason for this delay seems pretty obvious. Due to the COVID-19 outbreak and renewed lockdowns in 2021, the team had little choice but to delay expansion. Odyssey will allow players to land on countless new planets. Frontier claimed the game will use stunning new technologies. It will also allow players to explore their surroundings with unlimited freedom from a first person camera perspective, from a footing perspective.
The resulting gameplay of Odyssey allows players to open their way through a wide variety of missions. These missions range from diplomacy and trade to deadly stealth and total struggle. The game also includes various settings, objectives and NPCs that offer a variety of missions. Watch the Odyssey gameplay video below.
