Apple entered the smart speaker market with its product called “HomePod“. But the device could not become a popular product with its high price and limited functionality. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple has not completely abandoned the HomePod. And he thinks it could become a popular product with a more complete device.
According to information provided by Gurman, Apple is considering the idea of combining HomePod and Apple TV to include a FaceTime-supported camera. Accordingly, Apple TV will come with an integrated HomePod speaker and a camera. In this way, users will be able to participate in video conference calls from their TVs to which they connect Apple TV.
For now, Apple‘s plans for the product in question are not clear. But if it happens, we can say that we will encounter an Apple TV that supports all the functions of HomePod. Therefore, it will be possible to listen to music with Apple TV and use Siri without a remote.
Apple can combine HomePod and Apple TV in one product
According to Gurman, Apple is also working on an advanced touchscreen HomePod model to compete with Google and Amazon, the leaders of the smart speaker market. For this product, we can briefly say that it is a product that brings HomePod and iPad together. It is also stated that it will have a camera that can be used in video calls.
Mark Gurman states that both products are still in early development. So it’s too early to talk about whether a touchscreen HomePod or an Apple TV with HomePod is coming. Nevertheless, considering Apple’s desire to increase revenues in different sectors in order to alleviate the income burden of iPhones on a percentage basis, we can say that it is likely to come up with a more functional device.
