The iPhone 13 series is said to offer higher speeds and improved range thanks to WiFi 6E. It has been suggested that the iPhone 13 series will come with WiFi 6E , an enhanced version of the WiFi 6 protocol. This will be an enhancement that will allow new models to support faster wireless download speeds and increased range.
WiFi 6 was not available in last year’s iPhone 12 series. So while it’s not a major upgrade for those looking to buy any of the four models coming this year, according to DigiTimes, WiFi 6E will offer significant benefits. The key difference between WiFi 6E and WiFi 6 protocol is that the new standard supports the 6GHz band.
The 6GHz band helps with higher speeds, increased reliability and improved range due to less interference from other devices. However, to enjoy all the features of WiFi 6E; your iPhone 13 must be connected to a WiFi 6E access point. It should be noted that many users will not see the difference; and therefore will not have to upgrade their routers in the coming months.
In addition to the new standard, Qualcomm‘s Snapdragon X60 5G modem is also expected to be on upcoming phones. The new baseband chip is said to be more efficient; and faster than the Snapdragon X55 modem running on the iPhone 12 series. This will also contribute to better battery life.
