Mass Effect Legendary Edition Announced
After never ending rumors, the Mass Effect Legendary Edition was finally announced for Spring 2021.
Announced on the N7 Day, a day when BioWare and all its fans celebrate Mass Effect, this remastered version will contain Mass Effect, Mass Effect 2, and Mass Effect 3 altogether. The remastered version of Mass Effect will come for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. It will also have “forward compatibility and targeted enhancements on Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5“.
Mass Effect Legendary Edition will include single-player core content and DLC with all promotional weapons, armor, and packs from Mass Effect, Mass Effect 2, and Mass Effect 3, and optimized for 4K Ultra HD.
VP, Studio GM of BioWare Casey Hudson said that the team at BioWare’s goal “was not to remake or reimagine the original games, but to modernize the experience so that fans and new players can experience the original work in its best possible form”. Hudson also confirmed that “a veteran team has been hard at work envisioning the next chapter of the Mass Effect universe”. BioWare is only in the early stages of the project and did not reveal any more details, but they stated they are looking forward to sharing their progress at a later date.
