NVIDIA has taken a step towards solving the graphics card manufacturing issue. The company decided to resurrect the RTX 2060 to avoid supply problems in the market. NVIDIA aims to increase and relaunch the NVRAM capacity of the graphics card as well. This move by the company may allow the market to breathe a while.
As it is known, there is a serious chip crisis in the graphics card market. The main reason for this is the high demand of cryptocurrency miners. After all these events, an important supply problem surfaced. NVIDIA has finally taken a step to avoid this supply issue. The company may re-release the old graphics card to replenish stocks.
The GeForce RTX 2060, which is an old model, will of course be re-released with changes. NVIDIA has made a significant change to this graphics card. The company is said to have plans to update the NVRAM of the RTX 2000 series. They had made a similar move in the past years and relieved the market.
NVIDIA has made such a move before
This is not the first time we come across NVIDIA‘s move. Because at the beginning of 2021, the company was dealing with a supply problem in the RTX 3000 series. So it re-released the RTX 2060 series. However, they have never been able to fully overcome this supply problem.
The graphics card that will be re-released had a capacity of 6GB of VRAM. However, with a new update, the capacity will be doubled and will be released as 12 GB (GDDR6). However, this does not mean that this update will completely reduce the supply problem.
All these rumors are based on some sources at VideoCards. Sources are talking about a new ‘PG161‘ board that carries the TU106-300 GPU of the RTX 2060 but has more RAM. Finally, graphics cards will start production at the end of this year. It is expected to be released in January 2022. Keep following us to be informed about the developments.
