OPPO Obtains A Patent For Vertical Foldable Smartphone Design

It turns out that China-based smartphone manufacturer OPPO received a patent for a vertically foldable smartphone. LetsGoDigital shared the rendered images created based on patent images. OPPO, the rising smartphone manufacturer, is still working on the smartphones that will be launched in the coming days. Continuing to prepare for the Reno5 series, the company seems to be working on different designs. According to the latest information, the Chinese manufacturer received a patent for a vertically foldable smartphone.

There were only two different vertically foldable smartphone models released so far. The first of these is the Galaxy Z Flip of South Korea-based Samsung, and the other is the Razr series, which attracts attention with Motorola’s high price. If OPPO produces their own vertically foldable smartphone, they will be the third company to join the trend. Render images created by LetsGoDigital based on patent images show that it will not have a cover screen though.

When we check the backside of the phone, we see that the triple rear camera setup placed horizontally on the upper / middle side is chosen. At this point, it should be noted that the number of cameras is not mentioned in the original patent images and a different camera setup may be included in the device. It is not certain whether the smartphone will be manufactured or not, despite the fact that patent images have emerged.
