New information

Brand new information has emerged about this chip, which Qualcomm will release as a direct competitor to the M1. Let’s take a look at what is known and revealed about this new chip from Qualcomm.

It turned out that Qualcomm is working on the chipset that will directly compete with the M1 chip Apple introduced last year. Moreover, some information about this chipset has also come to light.

It is stated that the new Snapdragon chipset will have dimensions of 20 x 17 mm, just like Snapdragon 8cx, but the dimensions of the final product may change. In addition, the machine where the new chip is tested is also equipped with a Snapdragon X55 5G modem. However, it is not yet known whether this modem is integrated into the chipset or is a separate part.

It is also stated in the tests that there are two different variants. One of them is 8 GB LPDDR5 RAM and the other is 32 GB LPDDR4X RAM. Its direct competitor, the M1, is limited to 16 GB, so we can say that the Snapdragon SC8280 has an advantage, at least on the basis of numbers.

Ancaj reports that Apple‘s new processor will be 12-core. Moreover, the fact that the M1 surpasses many of its competitors even in this form is an indication of how powerful the next generation can be. Therefore, we can already say that Apple and Qualcomm will enter a fierce competition.
