The Plan Behind A PS5 Feature Revealed
According to the leaked top secret Sony internal documents, the Japanese company aims to allow people who have limited time to play games with the PS5‘s Events feature to be able to play single-player games. Japanese technology giant Sony offers a new feature called “Events” to the gamers on its next generation game console Playstation 5. Thanks to this feature, the gamers will be able to access certain missions, modes or side missions in the game without wasting time. So why did Sony publish such a feature that technically shortens the “playing” time of games?
According to Sony‘s internal documents, which were recently delivered to vice.com by an unnamed source, the Events feature is among the most important features of the PS5. Because in Sony‘s opinion, Events will be the key to the rise of single player games. Sony states in these documents that most gamers have a job, school, a child to take care of, or a different occupation. However, Sony underlines that not everyone has “idle” hours to spare for games.

Under such circumstances, it is stated that it is important for people to know how long the task they have started will take in total. It is important to know how to proceed from a point where they get stuck during the mission too. Sony states that the events feature is designed exactly for these circumstances. In other words, with the Events feature, Sony aims that those who do not have hours to play games can play single player games.
Another critical feature of the eventsis that it informs the gamers about the duration of the content in question. For example; When you hover over a mode or task card of the relevant game from the Events menu, the card shows how long it will take as well as information about the task or mode. So you can know if you have enough time to finish the task.
